March 13

It was a great week this week. We picked up 3 new investigators this week. One is so ready . We just need to get them wedded. She reads the Book of Mormon every night. Hr boyfriend is a non active member and they have been living together for 7 years. He just needs to get his priorities straightened out. It seems weird to me that people can do that. If your going to live together just get married. We are ordained ministers and my comp offered to marry them but they said they would think about it. ha ha

That is great about Brady. Just make sure he reads the Book of Mormon himself and has is own testimony. He needs to study and know for himself. He will be a better missionary if he has a testimony before he leaves.

The members are still feeding us really well we had a St Patricks Day Feast last night corned beef and cabbage. I love the corned beef. The members are still great at getting us people to teach. I love the people in California.

March 6

This was a good week well kind of. The good new is my new comp. is amazing He is a super hard worker and We have the trust of the Lord with us. We are busy doing his work and we will be blessed because of it.

Well here is the bad news remember last week when I told you about my ticket well I got the news and it is 480 dollars for the ticket. Sorry to ask so much I feel terrible about this. I need to pay the ticket so I dont end up in jail.

My comp is all about working out he loves to run every morning that means I have to run also. I have shin splints and it dosent help that we ride bikes all day. Up and down hills.

I still feel so bad about asking for so much. I hope it is ok. Thanks for everything.

Great Week!

 This week was great I got my new comp his name is Elder Oldham he is from Payson Ut he is a farm boy. I get along with him better than my last to comp. The only problem is we are bikes full time. I have to say I have gotten lazy with the cars. So we are trying to run every morning to get stronger on our bikes . I have gotten some pretty bad shin splints. Oh it hurts. I feel like I have a rock in my leg.

We had the opportunity to give a blessing this week. I was able to give the blessing. He shared his experience with us after. He said it was amazing he felt like he was being cleansed from the inside out. The spirit was so strong. I felt so proud to be a preisthood holder. He has had a hard life and is coming back from drinking he asked for a blessing to keep him sober. It is so shocking to us as missionaries we live a different lifestyle than most people out here and it is so sad to see the grip that Satan has on some of these people.

So how is it going with the Book of Mormon I am on my third time through and I am in Alma chapter 3. It is a great book. I love reading it. I remember leaders trying to get me to read this book , now I see why. I have a testimony of this book and we need it so much in this day.

It is getting Better

 My comp is getting transfered. Im sorry but I am really excited. The ward boundries changing was really hard. President Cook is really busy and didnt get back to us for a while how to handle the change so we were overlapping a lot. I enjoy the other Elders so it will be nice, I am getting the one that is a District Leader as my comp so we will really get some work done. I am really relieved.

Uncle Paul would love this. we are walking up the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and we saw like 30 or 40 Mustangs all in a line. They were all suped up and some other cool cars. Im sure you dont know what kind Im talking about but that made my day.

My comp was out saying goodbyes to some ward members and we heard something and thought there was an explosion. Then we figured out it was fire works some rich persons wedding it went on for like 10 min. Stinking Rich people.

Tuff Week

 This week I am really discouraged. I might have gotten a ticket while I was driving and my comp is really bugging me.

I try to tell him this is what we are doing and he says no or pretends he is sick. 

Then the one part member family we were teaching has told us to back off. They dont want any contact with anyone from the church right now.

So frustrating this are has a lot of potential but we are not getting the work done. I am so glad I waited to come on my mission until I was ready. It is really hard to work when people dont have a testimony of the work.

It is just been a hard week dont worry it will get better.

Temple Trip

 We had a temple trip today thats why Im so late writing today. We got there at 7 am and the lights were still on It was raining a little. It was so beautiful. I still love the San Deigo temple better but it was nice to go to the temple and brighten my mood.

I got your package that was about me being half way the tie was hilarious I could imagine mom thinking she was so funny sending that. I got a package from Alyssa the same day so it was like Christmas all over again. I really needed the pick me up.

I havent had much of an opportunity to teach lately and it is really hard for me. My companion told the Mission President that I am mean. Im sorry mom but I am here to work. Dont worry we will work it all out but right now I am discouraged. I am not sure how to handle this. I am praying alot and spent sometime in the celestial room today at the temple. I feel stronger. Dont worry mom it will all work out. 

Gotta go do my laundry

Crazy News

Crazy news this never happens in the mission field. We are getting a new Bishop and the ward boundries are changing. But the mission president hasnt gotten back to us on what to do because now we over lap with some other Elders. Its nice because we get to go on splits . I can get some work done. I have been teaching a set of twins that are 10 and their family is less active. They are really smart and fun to teach.

One of the members cooks us food from Persia. it is spicy but so good. I sent you a picture of the entry way of their house. They are super rich and only live in the US part of the year. The other part they live in France. They have 6 girls and the youngest is 3 she reminds me of Ellie. It makes me miss her.

We are supposed to be teaching a guy that is on Dancing with the Stars. He had a roomate that went to BYU and wan on the Ballroom team. Anyhow his name is Donny. I thought Patti would want to hear about that.
